Airswift is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I for an onsite role in Spring, TX, supporting CO2 pipeline operations within a refinery and chemical complex environment. 50% travel to Wyoming will be reimbursed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting pipeline-related engineering work.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work to ensure alignment with specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate discipline engineering technical work products.
  • Support execution of engineering and design routines with team goals and procedures.
  • Coordinate communication on issues affecting design, safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Review discipline design drawings and documents.
  • Identify deviations from technical specs and ensure proper processing.
  • Maintain the deviation control log.
  • Manage engineering queries from contractors and subcontractors.
  • Keep leadership informed of progress and concerns.
  • Participate in engineering reviews at contractor locations.
  • Promote capital efficiency in engineering design.
  • Support internal engineering initiatives as requested.
  • Provide support for pipeline hydraulics updates and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to small projects involving pipeline, mechanical and civil elements.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I Duration: 1 year Schedule: M-F, 5/40, onsite. Sponsorship Provided: No Location: Spring, TX with 50% travel to WY (reimbursed) This opportunity sits within a refinery and chemical complex environment, supporting CO2 pipeline operations and related engineering activities. The role offers involvement in hydraulic modelling, troubleshooting of pumps, motors and valves, and delivery of small engineering projects. This position is well suited to candidates looking to apply mechanical or civil engineering expertise in a technically focused, cross-functional setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work completed internally and by contractors and subcontractors to ensure alignment with company specifications, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products.
  • Support effective execution of engineering and design routines aligned with team goals, objectives and procedures.
  • Coordinate and communicate issues affecting engineering design, safety and regulatory compliance across engineering teams.
  • Review discipline design drawings and documents.
  • Identify and assess deviations from technical specifications and regulatory requirements and ensure they are processed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain the deviation control log.
  • Manage discipline engineering queries and technical information requests from contractors and subcontractors.
  • Keep engineering leadership informed of progress, deviations and execution concerns.
  • Participate in engineering reviews at contractor and subcontractor locations.
  • Promote capital efficiency in engineering design.
  • Support internal engineering initiatives as requested by the supervisor.
  • Provide support for pipeline hydraulics updates and troubleshooting activities.
  • Contribute to small projects involving pipeline, mechanical and civil engineering elements.
Required Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree (Required)
Required Experience:
  • At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience (Required)
  • Experience supporting pipeline-related engineering work
  • Experience working across engineering and operations teams
Required Skills:
  • Hydraulic modelling systems proficiency
  • Ability to interpret and read engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes and safety criteria
  • Experience troubleshooting pipes, pumps, motors and valves
  • Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Fluent English communication for technical and business purposes
