Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I based in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of amplifiers, pedals, pro audio equipment, and accessories, working from supplied industrial design concepts through to manufacturing. You will ensure designs meet marketing requirements and R&D standards. As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will collaborate with senior team members, work with manufacturing on new designs for manufacturability, and provide technical support for existing products, with some guidance from senior staff.

This is a hybrid position based in Scottsdale, AZ.

Essential Functions:
  1. Design, analyze, and test amplifier, pedal, and accessory products to meet marketing and engineering requirements.
  2. Utilize prototype technology to develop testable prototypes early in development.
  3. Host and participate in design reviews for all R&D projects.
  4. Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, industrial designers, drafters, electrical engineers, project managers, manufacturing engineers, and OEM engineers.
  5. Attend evening meetings with overseas OEM factories if required.
  6. Evaluate first article samples.
  7. Perform tolerance analysis on critical product features.
  8. Conduct SolidWorks simulation studies.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years of product development experience.
  2. 0-2 years of experience in related electro-mechanical design.
  3. Strong SolidWorks skills; sheet metal experience or knowledge preferred.
  4. Some knowledge of FEA tools and SolidWorks Simulation preferred.
  5. Design, analysis, and problem-solving skills sufficient for supervised design tasks.
  6. Basic understanding of electronic circuitry and PCBA standards preferred.
  7. Knowledge of designing plastic and sheet metal components.
  8. Understanding of woodworking tools.
  9. Willingness to work in a shop environment, building prototypes, test samples, and fixtures.
  10. Good technical and non-technical communication skills.
  11. Familiarity with basic project management tools.
  12. A musical background, especially guitar and related products, is a plus.
