Job summary

SMS group is seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer I to start an engineering career shaping the future of metals processing facilities. This role targets December 2025 or May 2026 graduates, focusing on designing, developing, and supporting advanced mechanical equipment.

You will work under experienced engineers to create 3D models, drawings, and BOMs, while assisting with layouts, calculations, and feasibility studies across projects worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • December 2025 or May 2026 graduation date.
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience with CAD software; Creo experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment; willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines; willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and revise 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Support equipment layouts, feasibility studies, technical reports, and design calculations.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles related to statics, strength of materials, power transmission, and machine design.
  • Participate in design reviews, equipment inspections, risk assessments, and acceptance testing.
  • Assist with equipment selection, supplier reviews, procurement support, and technical clarifications.
  • Prepare operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field verification activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, suppliers, workshops, and project teams.
  • Contribute to product improvements, lessons learned, and safe design practices.

What You’ll Do
  • Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will:
