Job summary

Fulton is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to turn requirements into precise 3D models and drawings (2D/3D) for sales, manufacturing, and service teams. You will use Autodesk Inventor and Vault to keep data organized and aligned with company standards.

Ideal candidates will have a mechanical engineering degree, experience with Inventor (SolidWorks acceptable), and basic programming or 3D printing exposure. This entry role supports multiple markets within Fulton’s diverse portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical preferred.
  • Autodesk Inventor experience preferred; SolidWorks okay.
  • Programming experience (C, Visual Basic, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with 3D printing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure mechanical design standards and tools deliver accurate 2D/3D drawings on schedule.
  • Maintain CAD data in Autodesk Vault with proper folders and naming.
  • Create intelligent models/tools to speed up drawings and documents.
  • Incorporate feedback from internal/external customers for continuous improvement.

Requirements
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Mechanical Engineer I ensures that mechanical design standards and tools are used to deliver accurate and timely drawings (3D and 2D) in a timely manner to optimize sales, marketing, manufacturing, and profitability that is consistent with the Fulton values and operating philosophy. Works under general direction of Project Engineers and Engineering teams.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Work with the Engineering , Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing personnel to ensure accurate drawings are completed on schedule per requirements. CAD work will include but not limited to 3D and 2D Custom Engineered Systems, custom equipment, standard mechanical drawing updates, etc.
  • Effectively maintain all CAD data on a central database (Autodesk Vault) using proper folder structure and naming policies.
  • Create intelligent models and drawing tools to shorten creation time for drawings and documents. Leverages the abilities of software to the best of its ability to interface with the business system and other external tools to optimize day to day business.
  • Incorporate feedback from both internal and external customers. Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience)
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred)
  • Autodesk Inventor experience preferred (Solidworks experience acceptable)
  • Programming experience in any language (C, Visual Basic, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience in 3D Printing is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Repetitive Motion – Substantial movement/motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
  • Sitting – The body is supported by buttocks and back and employees needs to remain seated for extended periods of time
