Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing, preferably crankshaft or large component manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and machining techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design large crankshafts that meet requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Conduct simulations and stress analysis to ensure durability and performance.
  • Manufacturing oversight: Oversee the manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules.
  • Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues during fabrication and assembly.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Quality assurance: Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure crankshafts meet industry standards and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of finished products, utilizing measuring tools and equipment.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports on product performance and quality metrics.
  • Collaboration and communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and communicate technical information to stakeholders.

Today, ECG has four facilities operating in Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer at Ellwood Crankshaft & Machine in Hermitage and Sharon, PA. This salaried, exempt position is critical for the daily operation and continuing growth of world class finish machine capabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing, preferably in crankshaft or large component manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
