Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Atlanta invites entry-level engineers to join our Engineering Development Training (EDT) program as a Mechanical Engineering EDT. You will create basic designs under supervision and learn CAD/BIM drafting on various projects worldwide.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027 graduation, EIT/FE, and internship preferred; REVIT a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Winter 2026, Spring or Summer 2027 graduation.
  • Previous engineering internship is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the latest MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite.
  • E.I.T. or FE certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
  • Learn drawing organization and company standards.
  • Perform CAD/BIM drafting for various projects and sizes.
  • Coordinate with other trades under guidance of senior staff.
  • Support design/engineering efforts for new installs, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments.
  • Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits for coordination meetings.
  • Attend EDT program training sessions and related activities.
  • Participate in Engineering Development Program continuing education seminars.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer
  • Learn drawing organization and company standards.
  • Perform CAD/BIM drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes to begin to understand architectural engineering design and documentation. technical staff
  • Coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external) under the guidance of more senior
  • Support the design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, system retrofits, system replacement, and system upgrades for a wide variety of projects and project types.
  • Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments.
  • Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe and attend project coordination meetings.
  • Participate and regularly attend the EDT program training sessions and support activities that are part of the EDT program
  • Attending our Engineering Development Program continuing education seminars on technical and professional enhancing topics.
Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will enjoy a team environment and be flexible enough to work independently where needed. Candidates for this role will be eager to learn and will expand their knowledge and hands‑on experience by challenging themselves and using the highly technical resources around them.

Additional job requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Electrical engineering, or Architectural Engineering with a graduation date of Winter 2026, Spring or Summer of 2027
  • Previous engineering internship, a plus
  • Knowledge of the latest version of MEP Auto CAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite
  • E.I.T. or FE required.
