Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering EDT in Atlanta. You will support engineering teams on designs that are inspiring and collaborative, learning from senior engineers and contributing to innovative solutions for client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes CAD/BIM drafting, coordination with trades, and involvement in the Engineer Development Program with ongoing training and seminars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, with graduation date Winter 2026, Spring or Summer 2027.
• Knowledge of the latest version of MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite.
• E.I.T. or FE required.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes.
• Coordinate with the designs of other trades under guidance of more senior staff.
• Support design and engineering efforts for new installations, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades.
• Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits.
• Participate in EDT program training sessions and related activities.
• Attend Engineer Development Program continuing education seminars.

Job Responsibilities:

As an entry level engineer, you will support our engineering teams working toward our designs that are inspiring, demanding, and highly collaborative. You will learn from others, and they will expect to learn from you. You will share in the responsibility, rewards, and recognition of producing truly innovative solutions and complete client satisfaction.

Some responsibilities include:

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes to begin to understand architectural engineering design and documentation. technical staff
• Coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external) under the guidance of more senior
• Support the design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, system retrofits, system replacement, and system upgrades for a wide variety of projects and project types.
• Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe and attend project coordination meetings.
• Participate and regularly attend the EDT program training sessions and support activities that are part of the EDT program
• Attending our Engineering Development Program continuing education seminars on technical and professional enhancing topics.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will enjoy a team environment and be flexible enough to work independently where needed. Candidates for this role will be eager to learn and will expand their knowledge and hands‑on experience by challenging themselves and using the highly technical resources around them.

Additional job requirements:
