Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team, focusing on HVAC and Plumbing design for healthcare and educational facilities.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree, a PE license, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong AutoCAD/REVIT skills. Experience with healthcare or educational projects is highly desirable; we offer an Employee-Owned culture and opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

• Accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC and Plumbing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in HVAC/Plumbing design, load calcs and ductwork.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT for drawings.
• Healthcare or educational project experience desirable.
• Strong analytical and collaborative skills to work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to determine design criteria, drawing sequences, system design presentations, sizing of system components, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Engage with clients to discuss design alternatives and recommend solutions aligned with project goals.
• Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements; conduct thorough reviews.
• Stay current with industry trends and incorporate sustainable practices into designs.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical HVAC/Plumbing design and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to determine design criteria, drawing sequences, system design presentations, sizing of system components, equipment selection, and system layouts. Ensure all designs meet client specifications and industry standards.
• Engage with clients to discuss system design alternatives and recommend solutions that align with their needs and project goals. Work closely with designers to implement these solutions effectively.
• Demonstrate strong technical and communication skills by effectively conveying complex engineering concepts to project team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Ensure all engineering designs and implementations adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct thorough reviews and provide feedback to maintain high standards of excellence.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies. Incorporate innovative and sustainable practices into system designs to enhance efficiency and environmental performance.

Requirements

• Possess an accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering degree or related degree.
• Hold an active Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on HVAC and Plumbing system engineering.
• Demonstrate advanced skills in HVAC and Plumbing system design, including load calculations, ductwork design, and equipment selection.
• Exhibit advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT for creating detailed and accurate engineering drawings.
• Experience with healthcare and/or educational projects in a consulting engineering environment is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, contributing to the success of multidisciplinary projects.
