Job summary

Tridentis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC experience to design, analyze, and deliver mechanical systems for naval vessels. The role focuses on supporting the Navy, MSC, and USCG with quality engineering deliverables and client-facing responsibilities.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant naval engineering, HVAC expertise, and strong problem-solving skills. Onsite work in Norfolk, VA with potential travel aligns with the company’s focus on federal contracts and modernization

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience with U.S. Navy, USCG, or MSC vessels.
  • HVAC experience and ability to prepare engineering calculations.
  • Knowledge of industry practices and requirements; technology-focused.
  • Ability to interface with the client and deliver NAVSEA-related designs.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve engineering and technical deliverables as a team.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and designers where appropriate.
  • Conduct engineering analysis using various tools.
  • Ensure quality assurance of all engineering deliverables.
  • Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Job description

As a rapidly growing small business, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC experience to support quality engineering deliverables for the U.S. Navy, MSC, and USCG. The engineer will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and delivering mechanical systems designs for marine vessels.

Responsibilities
  • Working as a team to review and approve engineering and technical deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the team and in some cases, lead and mentor engineers and designers.
  • Perform Engineering analysis using a variety of engineering tools.
  • Quality Assurance of all engineering deliverables.
  • Client facing.
  • Develop drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Assist the PM in business development and customer relations.
  • Expect 10% domestic and international travel.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience with U.S. Navy, USCG, or MSC vessels.
  • Experience with HVAC systems and preparing engineering calculations.
  • Existing knowledge and understanding of industry practices and requirements.
  • Must be technology-focused with a good background using and implementing technology into business processes.
  • Proven ability to deliver mechanical designs for NAVSEA preferred.
  • Ability to interface with the client.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • BS/BE in Engineering or relevant field.
  • Must be able to maintain or get a Secret level security clearance.
