Job summary

Gilder Search Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer to deliver engineering design and technical support for a wide range of heavy industrial projects. You will work under the VP of Engineering, handling design calculations, drawings, and client coordination.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 3–5 years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and familiarity with FEA. Domestic travel is required, with mentorship for PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience applying mechanical engineering principles.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3D modeling.
• Familiar with FEA modeling software.
• Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Valid driver's license for travel.
• Demonstrates potential to pursue PE under mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Work within project schedules and deadlines.
• Review and remain familiar with approved design criteria and codes.
• Review project scope to clearly define deliverables.
• Create and review calculations for the design.
• Prepare reports outlining design criteria or analysis of equipment.
• Interact with clients to review project status or deliverables.
• Travel to client sites for meetings or information gathering.
• Design layouts for heavy industrial systems including gearing, gearboxes, and piping.
• Provide detailed drawings and a full bill of materials for project execution.
• Support high-complexity consulting projects under engineering supervision.
