Job summary

Salient Motion, Inc. in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design production hardware and test equipment for modular motion technologies.

You will work on electromechanical systems, develop design requirements with cross-functional teams, and manage contract manufacturers for diverse manufacturing processes. A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 2+ years of design experience are required; NX CAD experience and knowledge of DFM/GD&T are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of end-to-end design experience from ideation to production.
• Experience designing for electrical enclosures.
• Familiarity with DFM and GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

• Design production hardware and test equipment.

• Work across all levels of the organization to develop design requirements.

What you'll do:

• Design production hardware and test equipment

What you need:

• Design experience in NX or other CAD package
• General knowledge of designing for electrical enclosures
• Knowledge of DFM and GD&T

Nice to have:

• Gearbox design and fabrication
• Strong understanding in electromechanical actuator design and analysis
