HEAPY is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Agile Team in Raleigh, NC. You will contribute to sustainable, innovative built-environment projects, applying standard mechanical design techniques and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will leverage AI and automation to enhance design processes, while pursuing FE certification and PE registration within the first few years. Join a colleague-first culture focused on growth and impact.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree (or equivalent) with built environment background.
• Typically 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience in built environment projects.
• Ability to apply standard design engineering techniques and modify designs accordingly.
• Experience using engineering software packages and automated design tools.
• FE Certification pursued; PE Registration targeted within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Input and verify model designs; understand underlying reasons behind design choices.
• Collaborate to prepare design details, cost estimates, and calculations for mechanical equipment or systems.
• Gather data for design specifications and prepare technical reports.
• Review shop drawings, bids, and submittals for compliance with specifications.
• Prepare designs, reports, and documentation for review and approval.
• Conduct field observations, tests, measurements, and data collection to inform designs.
• Deliver projects on time while ensuring client requirements and quality standards.
• Leverage AI and automation in design and project work as appropriate.
