Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, seeks a Mechanical Engineer specialized in Support System Testing to join the Omen team. You will design, build and test Ground Servicing Equipment for the hover-to-cruise AAV, driving fast iterations and demonstration readiness.

The role involves developing test plans, evaluating configurations with vehicle system elements, and drafting SOPs for diverse operational environments, ensuring robust safety and performance in mission-critical contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or aviation discipline.
• 3+ years in Aviation, Aerospace or product development including test and evaluation.
• Experience with land and maritime operations and fielded systems logistics/maintenance.
• High voltage systems or hybrid powertrains desirable.
• Hazard assessment and risk mitigation experience (MIL-STD-882E).
• Strong ownership in fast-paced environment; bias for action.
• Defense industry or military service background desirable.
• Security clearance eligibility in US, UK, or Australia.

Responsibilities

• Own the Mechanical Design of new Support System Equipment from evaluation to prototyping and customer demos.
• Develop and execute right-sized test plans for Support System Equipment testing.
• Use full-scale vehicle system elements and mock-ups to evaluate configurations.
• Draft SOPs for Support System evolutions across diverse environments.
• Provide feedback to design teams on usability in the field.
• Apply disciplined engineering to hazards and procedural controls.
• Identify land and maritime test environments and equipment.
• Maintain configuration control of development assets.
