Job summary

EnergyX in Austin, TX seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own key process equipment packages and optimize two demonstration plants for productivity, operability, and cost-effective design. You will collaborate with process engineers, operations, vendors, and EPC partners to scale from pilot to commercialization.

The role requires 3–5+ years in mechanical engineering within chemical processing or related industries, with strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), and experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5+ years mechanical engineering in chemical processing, minerals processing, or similar industrial env.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and checking PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor packages.
• Proficient with CAD tools and knowledge of ASME/DIN/EN design codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical activities for pilot, demonstration, and early commercial systems.
• Translate PDP/PDS requirements into practical equipment and plant designs.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, utilities, and data sheets.
• Collaborate with engineers, operations, vendors, and EPC firms to scale up.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and ramp-up of two demonstration plants.
