Job summary

Eaton Research Lab (ERL) seeks a Mechanical Engineer Specialist - Emerging Technologies to design, develop, and test electromechanical systems for power electronics in low and medium voltage applications. You will lead actuation concepts and packaging, working with cross‑functional teams to advance technology from concept to validation.

The position requires on-site work three days a week in Menomonee Falls, WI, with relocation available for qualified US candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 7 years of electromechanical design including mechanical actuation and electrical equipment enclosure and packaging design, including creating specifications, defining application space, designing technical solution concepts, and building and testing prototypes.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop technology projects with local and remote resources and external technology partners.
• Advance state‑of‑the‑art mechanical design and packaging of power electronics, electrical protection, and power converter technologies.
• Identify and develop commercialization opportunities with diverse Eaton businesses.
• Lead and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams and provide updates to the project manager.
• Identify, analyze, and validate advanced technologies in electromechanical actuation, motion control, materials, and modeling.
