  • Perform propulsion system sizing, performance modeling, and trade studies to support concept development and design decisions.
  • Conduct analyses related to system performance, efficiency, thermal management, reliability, and integration.
  • Develop mathematical models and simulations to evaluate propulsion system behavior under various operating conditions.
  • Support component selection and integration, including electric motors, power electronics, batteries, controllers, and associated hardware.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and test engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Define system requirements, interfaces, and verification methods.
  • Support laboratory, ground, and field testing activities, including test planning, execution, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analyses, and develop corrective actions.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, specifications, and design reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in propulsion, powertrain, energy systems, or related engineering fields.
  • Experience with engineering analysis, modeling, and simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of electric propulsion system architectures, electric machines, power electronics, or energy storage systems.
  • Experience performing engineering calculations, trade studies, and technical evaluations.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and product development processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively through written documentation and presentations.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with aerospace electric propulsion systems, eVTOL aircraft, spacecraft propulsion, or advanced mobility platforms.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, Modelica, or similar modeling and simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of motor design, inverter design, battery systems, or power distribution architectures.
  • Experience with thermal analysis, CFD, FEA, or multiphysics simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with hardware testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience supporting design reviews, certification efforts, or qualification testing.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements applicable to propulsion systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers.
