Mechanical Engineer - EI

Location: Dallas, Texas

Role Overview

As part of the Buildings team at Garver, the Mechanical Engineer will develop mechanical designs supporting various Buildings projects. Responsibilities include planning, design, and commissioning of:

  • Building HVAC systems
  • Building plumbing systems
  • Building fire protection systems
  • Whole building energy modeling
  • Sustainability reporting

This role involves coordination with support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers, and adhering to quality assurance and control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required.

Required Attributes and Skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principles
  • Experience with BIM software for construction drawings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for design calculations
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Strong time management and quality focus
  • Accurate project accounting skills
  • Adherence to QA/QC plans
  • Commitment to continuing education and team development
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • At least 3 years of experience in building design and construction
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to building systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis software
  • Experience with AIA MasterSpec
