Job summary

Allen & Shariff is seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Designer with 5-8 years of HVAC design experience to join our Columbia, Maryland team. This exempt (salaried) position pays $85K - $130K per year depending on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities include full HVAC design, equipment selection, coordination with clients, and production using AutoCAD and Revit. The role also involves writing specifications and providing bid/field support during construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical focus).
• 5–8 years of HVAC design experience.
• Proficiency with Revit.
• PE Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform full HVAC system design and equipment selection for small to medium commercial projects.
• Analyze options and evaluate existing systems where appropriate.
• Coordinate project documents with A+S and clients.
• Design in accordance with code using AutoCAD and Revit as needed.
• Write detailed HVAC specifications.
• Support bid and construction phases: review bids, RFIs, shop drawings, and field reports.

A+S is looking for a Mechanical Engineer or Designer with 5-8 years of HVAC design experience to join our Columbia, Maryland team. This is an exempt (salaried) position and pays $85K - $130K per year depending on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform full design of HVAC systems including full equipment selection for small to medium commercial projects.
• Analyze system options and evaluates existing systems where appropriate.
• Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within A+S and externally with clients.
• Complete full design in accordance with code. Production is performed using AutoCAD and Revit depending on preference of architect.
• Write specifications.
• Provide bid and construction phase services including reviewing bids, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, participating in project walk throughs and providing field observation reports.
