Job summary

Clarke Fire in Cincinnati designs and manufactures diesel engine pump solutions. The Mechanical Engineer Designer will analyze specifications, develop new engine components, and prepare detailed layouts and prototypes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet performance targets.

Required experience includes mechanical design, technical drawing (Autodesk), and diesel/automotive familiarity. The role offers growth within a global company and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Experience with technical drawing, ideally Autodesk.
• Diesel or automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes product specifications and performance to determine producible designs.
• Assesses feasibility of new equipment or modifications within cost and space limits.
• Provides information on manufacturing techniques, materials, and process trade-offs.
• Clarifies design issues with development teams and advances solutions.
• Prepares layout drawings and schematics for products or systems.
• Directs prototype construction and testing of products or systems.
• Defines testing plans and analyzes results to meet specs.

SUMMARY

Maintain current and develop new engine products, systems, components and accessories as necessary to support the strategic objectives of the business unit including but not limited to the following activities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
• Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
• Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and/or product engineering planning.
• Confers with development personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
• Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
• Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
• Define testing and analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Required Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Required technical drawing experience. (i.e. Autodesk)
• Prefers Diesel or Automotive experience
