Job summary

ESAB in Denton, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to drive innovative designs from concept through final implementation. In this role you will model in CAD, draft detailed drawings with GD&T, manage BOMs and ECOs, and lead cross‑functional projects on a fast‑paced production floor.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to refine requirements and ensure reliable, cost‑effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of verifiable experience in mechanical design and/or project engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting; strong GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and analyze mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Draft Sight, etc.).
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings (drafting) ensuring compliance with industry standards and GD&T principles.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulation, and analysis to validate design performance, reliability, and safety.
• Manage document control, including BOMs, ECOs, and technical specifications.
• Act as a project lead for assigned tasks or small-to-medium scale engineering projects.
• Define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts between production, supply chain, and external vendors to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Proactively identify potential bottlenecks or technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical expertise to the production floor to resolve manufacturing issues, improve assembly processes, or troubleshoot prototype builds.
• Collaborate with clients or internal stakeholders to refine requirements and drive design iterations based on feedback.
