Job summary

Ahlstrom Stevens Point Mill is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-op for Fall 2027 to support the Maintenance Team in safety, quality, and cost objectives on a paper machine process line. This role offers hands-on experience with process engineers and opportunities for growth toward full-time engineering roles.

Applicants should be enrolled in an engineering program, authorized to work in the U.S., and willing to relocate to Stevens Point for May–December 2027. Pay rate is $27.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or similar degree program.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Willing to relocate to Stevens Point, WI for 2027 fall term.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product improvement or cost optimization projects.
• Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups.
• Provide technical support for process engineers and coordinators with Proficy, Centerlining, Optivision and AspenTech.
• Monitor and analyze process quality, variability, and conditions.
• Support safety, productivity, quality, and cost-control initiatives.
