Job summary

Plansee Group in Franklin, USA, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to transform molybdenum and tungsten components using CAD for customer projects. You will create 3D models, drawings, and documentation to support engineering and manufacturing.

The role requires at least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 3+ years CAD experience, with Autodesk Inventor and other CAD tools. You’ll collaborate with sales, production, and vendors to bring designs from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of CAD design experience in 3D models and drawings.
• Experience reading drawings to AMSE/ISO; GD&T knowledge.
• Manufacturing experience with CNC or sheet metal a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create/update 3D Solid Models, assemblies, and drawings for customer projects.
• Prepare supplemental project documentation and work instructions.
• Provide technical input and task estimates on customer requirements.
• Collaborate with sales and production on current engineering activities.
• Conduct technical investigations applying mechanical engineering principles.
• Perform calculations to verify design concepts.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturing during design, test, and production.
• Lead design reviews and communicate requirements across teams.
• Review customer specs and communicate scope to Engineering.
