Job summary

DISHER is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Lansing, MI to design and analyze building mechanical systems—from HVAC and plumbing to process piping and ventilation—from concept through construction, collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and clients.

You will work across commercial, industrial, education, and multi-family projects, applying energy-conscious design and ensuring compliance with codes and standards. Revit proficiency and ABET-accredited degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with facility-related and/or industrial projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping design and relevant codes (ASHRAE, MMC, MPC, IMC, IPC).
• Proficiency with Revit for mechanical design and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and requirements for mechanical aspects of facility projects.
• Prepare plans and specifications for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, ductwork, and ventilation.
• Design or analyze mechanical systems across market sectors, ensuring code compliance and client requirements.
• Develop construction document packages for issuance to contractors and teams.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with structural, electrical, and architectural disciplines.
