Job summary

Kitagawa-NorthTech, Inc. in Schaumburg, Illinois is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will assess needs and produce accurate designs per customer specs, machinability, deflection and other factors, using CAD NX and Teamcenter.

You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, conduct FEA with Ansys, verify designs with DFMA/DFSS, and support manufacturing through ECNs and lean manufacturing. The role includes mentoring designers and collaborating with customers to identify improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering, plus three years of related experience; or an associate degree in a related field plus five years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust designs for standard & custom workholding systems utilizing strong mechanical engineering principles and KNI standards.
• Create fully defined 3D models & 2D documentation using CAD Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Validate product designs by designing feasibility studies and FEA testing; apply DFMA and DFSS principles.
• Assure system and product conformance to designs; support fabrication, assembly, usage and installation processes.
• Mentor mechanical designers and support manufacturing via ECN/lean initiatives.
