Job description

Work Arrangement

Hybrid work schedule requiring in‑office presence 3 days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and power plant engineering.
  • Prepare calculations, evaluations, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews; conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection in response to project needs.
  • Support project teams of Mechanical Engineers and be involved in system engineering, including design, modification, and analysis of power plant mechanical systems.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, to plant site locations for meetings, and for field verification of designs.
Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET‑approved program with a strong academic background and interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, power engineering, turbomachinery, thermal systems, and energy conversion.
  • 3 or more years of experience in the power industry.
  • Experience in preparing calculations and reports; excellent technical report writing skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of mechanical engineering and technology, including applying systems, principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to project design.
  • Strong interest in numerical computations and problem solving.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation is valued but not required.
  • Value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems.
