Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support Flight Test Instrumentation at the LM Aero Marietta site, drafting for C-130 aircraft and installing data acquisition systems for flight testing.

Five years in CATIA V5 part/assembly/drawing, CCD CADAM/2D drafting experience, and 3+ years with test instrumentation (strain gauges, transducers, accelerometers, thermocouples) are required, and a DoD Secret clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in part design, assembly design, and drawing in CATIA V5.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with CADAM Computer Drafting (CCD) or other 2D drafting software
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with test instrumentation (strain gages, pressure transducers, accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.)
• Must be able to obtain DoD Security clearance at a minimum level of Secret.

Responsibilities

• Instrumentation mechanical design and support for AMMM and Advanced Development Programs.
• Drafting mechanical drawings for C‑130 aircraft and integration of data acquisition systems.
• Coordinate with Electrical instrumentation and Systems engineers and work with union-represented technicians.

Job description

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. This position supports all Flight Test Instrumentation based out of the LM Aero Marietta site. Responsibilities: Instrumentation mechanical design and support for AMMM and Advanced Development Programs. Primary responsibility will be drafting mechanical drawings for C‑130 aircraft. Candidate will design, develop, document, and support the installation and operation of data acquisition systems for aircraft flight testing. Daily tasks will include mechanical and hardware design and system integration. Designs for instrumentation will include, but are not limited to, strain gages, thermocouples, pressure transducers, accelerometers, displacement transducers, synchro’s, microphones, calibration methods, and aircraft test instrumentation racks. Will coordinate with the Electrical instrumentation and Systems engineers on the solutions to data acquisition products. Will work with union‑represented technicians and mechanics to fabricate and install instrumentation designs. Implement designs with CATIA V5 and CCD (CADAM Computer Drafting).
