Proven Process Group is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Wisconsin to own projects from design to failure analysis. You will work closely with technicians on the shop floor and in SolidWorks, ensuring designs perform in real-world conditions.

Ideal candidates have 4-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in an industrial setting and a strong grasp of gearing, bearings, torque, and leverage. Proactive, hands-on problem-solvers preferred.

• Split time between engineering and the shop floor, collaborating with technicians on real-world performance.
• Manage a rotating project load of about 5 projects per month.

Job description

We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Waukesha County to join a small, hands-on engineering team supporting industrial equipment manufacturing. This is a role for someone who wants real ownership of projects, from initial design through failure analysis, and who's just as comfortable on the shop floor talking to technicians as they are at a desk in SolidWorks.

What you'll do:

• Design and analyze mechanical components, with a focus on gearing, bearings, and mechanical leverage systems
• Work in SolidWorks and PDM on drawings ranging from simple parts to complex castings and housings
• Perform failure mode analysis on equipment in the field
• Use 3D scanning to reverse engineer components, including a major initiative on new gearbox models
• Split time between engineering and the shop floor. This isn't a desk-only role. You'll work directly with technicians to understand how designs perform in the real world
• Manage a rotating project load (roughly 5 projects a month) based on your strengths and interests

What we're looking for:

• 4-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in an industrial setting
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM
• Solid understanding of how mechanical systems interact, gearing, bearings, torque, leverage. Experience from packaging or non-industrial environments typically isn't a fit
• Someone who wants to build things and see them work, not just sit behind a screen
• A self-starter who can take feedback, retain it, and improve without a lot of hand-holding
