Job summary

Maverick Power in United States is seeking a design-focused engineer to create custom switchboards and switchgear. You will generate bills of materials, develop fabrication drawings, and seek alternatives to reduce cost and lead times.

This role requires experience in manufacturing, solid CAD skills (SolidWorks), and the ability to read electrical schematics. You will work with engineering and production teams to deliver robust, code-compliant solutions across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing environment experience, 2+ years.
• Proficient with SolidWorks modeling.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematic drawings.
• Experience designing and modeling parts from concepts.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience.
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Effective time management and prioritization.
• Familiarity with UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposals to develop power distribution solutions.
• Design mechanical parts for switchboards and switchgear for manufacturability using CAD.
• Create 3D models of switchboards.
• Generate BOMs and modify standard assemblies for projects.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to design production solutions.
• Interpret customer drawings and diagrams to plan layouts.
• Support manufacturing, testing, quality and field service teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role This position is responsible for designing custom switchboards and switchgear creating bills of materials developing drawings seeking alternative components helping production and other engineering related activities Utilize design for manufacturing principles to reduce system complexity and build time Designing modular components to reduce manufacturing cost and decrease custom fabrication lead times Your work will be exciting and varied working on projects which require knowledge of applications electricalelectronics mechanical manufacturing quality and safety Never a dull day and always a challenging problem to solve in a collaborative goal focused environment

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project proposals and use power distribution and product knowledge to develop solutions
• Design mechanical parts for switchboards and switchgear manufacturability by using CAD software
• Design 3D models of switchboards
• Generate bills of material and modification of standard assemblies to suit the project requirements
• Interact with electricalmechanical engineering group and production team to design solutions for production
• Interpret customer bid package drawings electrical one line diagrams plan layouts and specifications
• Performs other job related duties as assigned
• Support Mavericks manufacturing testing quality and field service teams to ensure proper implementation of designs
• Performs other job related duties as necessary or assigned

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment 2 years minimum
• Experience with Solidworks modeling software
• Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings
• Experience with designing and modeling parts and assemblies given basic conceptual information
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering w 7 years or more experience
• Strong problem solving & interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel
• Must be able to effectively utilize time
• Working knowledge of UL 891 UL 508A IEEEANSI and NECNFPA 70E standards
• Knowledge of low voltage switchboard UL891 switchgear design UL1558 installation and use
• Knowledge of local state and federal codes governing the installation and use of low voltage switchgear
• Ability to interpret basic electrical diagrams including front elevation one line and schematic drawings
• Excellent problem resolution skills

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to twenty five pounds at times

Work Environment

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities in offices in multiple shops and in commercial buildings Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods
