  • Attend project meetings and present design concepts and progress.

Job description

LOCATION | Tulsa, OK
REPORTS TO | Director of Mechanical Engineering
TEAM | Cyntergy | Mechanical Engineering

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide HVAC & Plumbing design of code-compliant HVAC & Plumbing design documents.
  • Implement industry design standards for HVAC & Plumbing in the building environment.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance collaborative reviews.
  • Collaborate with Director and Senior Engineers to provide HVAC & Plumbing design concept guidance for building projects of varying complexity levels.
  • Interact with clients, customers, building officials and contractors to meet project delivery requirements.
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignment, design or concept.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the mechanical engineering scope of work.
  • Participate in your personal Career, Skills & Performance (CSP) development in cooperation with Director.
  • Participate in client design milestone review meetings as part of the project delivery process.
  • Receive guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
  • Additional discipline-specific functions: assist the mechanical team in creating and maintaining design standards, perform mechanical and plumbing code reviews and existing facility assessments, perform mechanical and plumbing design load calculations, perform construction site observations and write related reports.
  • Periodic Functions: Same-day and Overnight Travel (car and air)

EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
In lieu of B.S. degree – 8-10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering
PE is preferred but not required. EIT is required.

SKILLS

  • Competency in the use of AutoCAD is required.
  • Competency in any 3D modeling software such as Revit is preferred
  • Experience with Trane Trace or Carrier HAP HVAC load and energy analysis programs is preferred.
  • Knowledge in regard to building, energy, mechanical, plumbing and life-safety codes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player, and customer focused.
  • Good communication skills including technical report writing.
  • Ability to assist in designing a complete project, system, component, or process under the guidance of a senior mechanical engineer
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and delivery
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design and conduct mechanical engineering studies and analyze and interpret data.
  • General knowledge of principles and practices of HVAC & Plumbing fields.
  • Ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
