Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree a plus
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and GD&T
• Experience building prototypes and defining acceptance criteria
• Experience with mechanisms, gear design, structures, materials and manufacturing processes
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent problem-solving and hands-on attitude

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical feasibility, performance validation, and risk reduction for advanced projects
• Develop and evaluate mechanisms, structures, and integrated systems using analysis and physical testing
• Translate early concepts into mature designs for product development

JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer as part of the Advanced Engineering team is a technical lead with responsibilities of developing, analyzing, and maturing complex mechanical systems for next-generation tools. This role focuses on transforming early concepts and emerging technologies into robust, feasible mechanical solutions through calculations, analysis, prototyping, and testing. The Advanced Engineering team is highly collaborative, deeply hands-on, and driven by curiosity and learning as we develop new and innovative consumer power tool products.

RESPONSIBILITIES / SKILLS

• Own mechanical feasibility, performance validation, and technical risk reduction for advanced projects
• Develop and evaluate mechanisms, structures, and integrated systems using analysis and physical testing
• Translate early concepts into technically mature designs suitable for transition into product development
• Build, test, and iterate functional prototypes to validate durability, performance, and manufacturability
• Determine system requirements, user operation methods, and design trade-offs
• Partner with Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure stakeholder alignment and a balanced technical solution
• Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to engineering leadership and other stakeholders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• B.S. in Mechanical or related Engineering disciplines; advanced degree a plus
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and GD&T
• Excellent problem-solving skills and hands‑on attitude
• Mechanical design fundamentals with related knowledge in mechanisms, gear design, structures, engineering materials, and manufacturing processes associated with those materials
• Experience building prototypes, developing test plans, and defining acceptance criteria
• Proven ability to work proactively and take ownership
• Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneously
• Experience in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Powerpoint
• Ability to use advanced tools (FEA, CFD, AI/ML) a plus
• Experience with measurement equipment (o-scope, vibration, sound) a plus
• Experience with embedded electronics and controls a plus
