Job summary

PSR Mechanical, a Seattle HVAC service contractor, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support sales, projects, and operations with HVAC design and energy solutions.

In-office role in Seattle with 7:00am–4:00pm hours. Requires a mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years of HVAC project experience. CEM/LEED-AP-OM preferred; strong CAD/AutoCAD and MS Office skills valued.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of the commercial HVAC market.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical systems technical education.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic mechanical concepts.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in energy efficiency applications.
  • Have a thorough understanding of City and State Code Requirements.
  • Experienced in diagnosing system design problems and planning for improved system performance.
  • Three (3) years commercial HVAC project experience.
  • Control system experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Goal driven, organized, self-starter.
  • High degree of personal integrity.
  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CAD drafting to meet project requirements.
  • Manage project plans revisions and redlines; coordinate with consultants and vendors.
  • Prepare CAD layouts for HVAC ductwork and piping.
  • Compute system load calculations.
  • Assist with HVAC equipment research and selection.
  • Coordinate design with structural and electrical teams.
  • Research equipment and systems; update team on new technology.
  • Maintain permit submittal requirements database.
  • Procure permits per jurisdictional rules.
  • Perform pre- and post-sale energy analysis.
  • Promote client engagement with service and energy programs.

PSR Mechanical, an established, well recognized and respected HVAC service contractor, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Seattle office. We are seeking a candidate who meets the qualifications listed below.

The Mechanical Engineer role is to assist to help create effective HVAC and energy solutions for our clients. Mechanical Engineers provide support to our Sales, Projects and Operations departments. They are involved in the day-to-day operations of a project and must be organized and able to clearly communicate with employees and customers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform or contract CAD drafting as needed to meet project requirements.
  • Manage and distribute project plan revisions and red lines, and coordinate with consultants, vendors and other trades, as needed.
  • Prepare layouts in CAD for low pressure HVAC ductwork and distribution as well as HVAC piping systems.
  • Complete system load calculations.
  • Assist with HVAC equipment research and selection.
  • Coordinate system design with structural consultants and electrical contractors.
  • Research equipment and system applications as needed and provide team updates on new technology.
  • Maintain database of jurisdictional permit submittal requirements and fee schedules.
  • Procure permits on projects as required per jurisdictional database.
  • Complete and manage pre-sale and post-sale facility energy analysis.
  • Promote client engagement with our service, maintenance, and energy services programs.
