Fortify Technical Staffing seeks a Director of Mechanical Engineering/Team Lead in the Bay Area. You will lead a team of engineers, run client-facing projects, and be responsible for mechanical design across varied building types.

Your role includes scope definition, design development, and coordination of multi-discipline resources. The ideal candidate has 3+ years post‑Bachelors experience in mechanical or architectural engineering, with proficiency in REVIT/AutoCAD and energy modeling tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience post Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or similar.
• Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, and energy modeling tools (Trane Trace, HAP, IES VE).

Salary would be 140k-180k plus Bonuses.

Fortify Technical Staffing works with Architectural, Engineering, and Construction Firms and MEP Consultancies nationwide. I have other local clients in the Bay Area looking for Sr. level engineers.

THE CLIENT

This particular client is a small (+/- 100 person) MEP firm who have been around for over 25 years. They work a variety of Building types: Healthcare, Education, Automotive, Restaurants, Commercial, multi-unit residential, etc.

OVERVIEW

The ideal Candidate will work with clients to define and confirm project scopes of work, do field surveys, engineering calculations, codes, develop conceptual design, detailed design documents, construction drawings and specifications, support services, project management, leadership, and coordinate design resources and activities.

ROLE/ RESPONSIBILITIES

• HVAC design (airside, hydronic, steam) for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary project types
• Ductwork, piping, sizing, fan, pumps, air and water flow, SD, DD, CD
• Equipment sizing and calculations, load calculations, systems applications, energy modeling

REQUIRED/ HIGHLY PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years’ experience post Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or similar
• REVIT, A/CAD, Trane Trace or HAP or IES VE Energy Modeling software
