Job summary

Staffingine LLC in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time role. You will design singulation, conveyance, and material handling systems delivering scrap to the sensor head with precision, and own frames, enclosures, guarding, and sensor head mounting, ensuring optical alignment under vibration and tough scrapyard conditions.

You will also manage tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, DFM, and fabrication packages, coordinate with vendors and machine shops, and lead on-site

Responsibilities

• Designing singulation, conveyance, and material handling systems that deliver scrap to the sensor head at precise positions and speeds
• Owning machine frames, enclosures, guarding, and sensor head mounting
• Ensuring optical alignment holds under vibration and harsh scrapyard conditions
• Managing tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, DFM, and full fabrication packages through vendor and machine shop coordination
• Leading on-site install, commissioning, and field iteration cycles - building, testing, and improving with your own hands
• Driving throughput and uptime modeling, factory layout, line balancing, and maintenance access planning
