Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide direct line and maintenance engineering support for engine and axle assembly operations at our client site in Michigan. The role focuses on daily production needs while driving longer-term process improvements, preventative maintenance development, and tooling updates.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, reviewing drawings and BOMs, developing spare parts lists, and coordinating with vendors.

• Troubleshoot tooling and equipment breakdowns
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures
• Review station drawings and BOMs; develop spare parts lists
• Develop and implement tooling for product and process changes
• Support equipment procurement and vendor coordination
• Certify equipment including gauges, torque guns, and leak testers
• Coach assemblers and supervisors on technical/process issues

Job description

The Mechanical Engineer provides direct line and maintenance engineering support for engine and axle assembly operations at one of our clients. This role supports daily production needs while owning longer‑term process improvements, preventative maintenance development, and tooling updates. Engineers act as a technical resource for supervisors, skilled trades, and hourly employees to ensure production targets and quality metrics are met.
