Logoplaste is currently seeking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join the plant team in Plainfield, IL (USA).

Reporting to: Plant Manager

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for implementing and managing all mold and machine processes as well as overseeing the quality function related to machinery.

Key Tasks & Activities...

  1. Set up, repair, and troubleshoot equipment, ancillary equipment, and support equipment.
  2. Make required mold changes/process adjustments and complete color changes.
  3. Supervise the quality function in the plant, ensuring that processes, controls, and employee tasks produce preforms to specifications.
  4. Analyze quality and SPC information to ensure robustness of quality systems.
  5. Analyze downtime, scrap, and cycle time data; prioritize improvement activities to positively affect KPIs.
  6. Complete preventative maintenance in coordination with the Maintenance Team.
  7. Train employees and document training to ensure successful job performance.
  8. Promote continuous improvement using tools like SMED, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
  9. Participate in plant safety processes and ensure compliance with safety policies, GMP, and Food Safety practices.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Who we are looking for...

Background and Experience
  • 3-5 years manufacturing experience with SBM and IBM (SIPA Machines).
  • Recognition or certification in a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PET.
Technical Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and SAP.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Good communication and team-building skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot environment (>90°F).
  • Ability to sit, climb, stand, bend, crawl, and walk as needed.
  • Ability to carry/maneuver up to 50 pounds.
