Qualifications

• PE or EIT certification preferred or required for PE candidates.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5–10 years of mechanical engineering and HVAC design experience requested.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Perform cooling and heating load calculations using industry software.
• Size and select HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, AHUs, fans, pumps, ducts, and piping.
• Prepare, review, and edit project specifications and technical docs.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and construction documents.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, designers, clients, and contractors throughout projects.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and project requirements.
• Provide technical support during project execution and conduct site visits.

This Direct-Hire opportunity is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in HVAC system design to join a collaborative team of project managers, engineers, and designers. Responsibilities:

• Design heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for a variety of projects


• Perform cooling and heating load calculations using industry-standard software


• Size and select HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, AHUs, fans, pumps, ductwork, and piping systems


• Prepare, review, and edit project specifications and technical documentation


• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and construction documents


• Utilize engineering design software and drafting platforms to support project development


• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, and contractors throughout project lifecycles


• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements


• Provide technical support and engineering expertise during project execution


• Conduct site visits and field evaluations as required


• Mentor and support junior engineering staff and contribute to team development

Schedule is 1st Shift / Monday - Friday / 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This is a hybrid opportunity / In office 3 days per week. Annual salary is$140,000+ DOE for PE candidates.

Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT)


• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering


• 5-10 years of mechanical engineering and HVAC design experience preferred


• Knowledge of building codes and standards including IMC and NFPA


• Experience performing cooling and heating load calculations using Trane Trace or Carrier HAPS


• Experience sizing and selecting chillers, boilers, AHUs, fans, ductwork, pumps, and piping systems


• Ability to develop, review, and edit engineering specifications


• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel


• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and construction documents


• Experience using common engineering design and analysis software


• Experience with Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit preferred


• Knowledge of chilled water plants, hot water and steam boiler systems, and central utility systems preferred


• Experience with combined heating and cooling plants (CCHP) is a plus


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
