AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Building and Places Team in Orlando, FL. This entry-level role supports senior engineers with mechanical design, analysis, documentation, and CAD modeling.

The position emphasizes CAD proficiency, fundamentals of mechanical engineering, and collaboration within interdisciplinary teams. Eligible candidates may include internships, co-ops, or academic projects, with EIT/FE preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience; internships/co-ops accepted.
• Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and machine design.
• Experience with CAD software such as Revit or AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building and Places Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Orlando, FL.

Y our Role

• Assisted senior engineers with mechanical design, analysis, and technical documentation.
• Developed and updated CAD drawings and 3D models.
• Performed basic engineering calculations and design evaluations.
• Support equipment selections, troubleshooting, and performance assessments.
• Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to complete engineering projects.
• Prepared technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Ensured compliance with safety standards, industry codes, and company procedures.
• Contributed to process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Participated in multi-disciplinary coordination meetings
• Maintained project records and provided engineering support throughout project lifecycles.

About You

• EXPERIENCE:
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Internships, co-op assignments, academic projects, or laboratory experience may be accepted in lieu of professional experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and machine design.
• EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
• Experience using CAD software such as Revit or AutoCAD.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform fundamental engineering calculations and analyses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Understanding of industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.
• Experience with engineering documentation and technical report preparation preferred.
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT/FE) certification preferred but not typically required.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $80,000-$85,000annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
