Job summary

Wall Colmonoy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design products and assess feasibility of applications. You will work on heat transfer equipment, tooling, and test fixtures, using SolidWorks for complex assemblies.

You will coordinate with customers and internal teams, and travel for projects and conferences as needed. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred), 5+ years in manufacturing or product engineering, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering is required with Master’s a plus.
• 3D modeling and GD&T drafting skills, SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong knowledge of precision tools and measuring equipment.
• Project management skills and Microsoft Office experience.

Job description

The Mechanical Engineer is an important member of the Engineering team and is responsible for designing products or systems and determining the feasibility of designs and applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Researches and analyzes data such as customer supplied designs, commercial and military specifications and repair manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Designs products or systems such as heat transfer equipment, aircraft exhaust components, tooling and test equipment.
• Ability to design complex assembly models in SolidWorks
• Creates manufacturing plans and bills of material in WCC manufacturing software.
• Ability to interface between engineering and internal and external customers.
• Travel to customer sites, other divisions and technical conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/Skills/Education)

• Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering - Master's Degree a plus
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, machine design, manufacturing process development, value engineering or product engineering
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to organize, and excellent communication skills
• 3D modeling and GD&T drafting skills, SolidWorks preferred
• Strong knowledge of precision tools and measuring equipment
• Project management skills
• Microsoft Office experience
