Job summary

A leading HVAC company in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to develop innovative HVAC solutions that meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a BSME or equivalent engineering experience with 3-5 years in HVAC engineering. Responsibilities include product development from concept to commercialization, working cross-functionally with teams, and mentoring junior engineers. Qualifications

• 3-5 years of engineering work experience, HVAC preferred.
• CFD, computational fluid dynamics experience preferred.

Position Responsibilities

• Works with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to develop product requirements based on customer needs.
• Analyzes systems using a variety of engineering tools including, but not limited to, FEA, analytical formulas, benchmark designs, etc.
• Run through sizing and optimization exercises for pumps, fans, coil, valves, and flow control devices
• Familiar with piping layouts, design, and material selection, including, but not limited to, PVC, Stainless Steel, Copper, HDPE, etc.
• Uses DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFMA tools to improve the quality and reliability of designs.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Assures that full and accurate documentation is produced for the designs that are moving into commercialization.
• Works with operations to design solutions that are integrated into the current manufacturing capabilities.
• Develops advanced designs in conjunction with operations to produce high quality designs that are value based.
• Works with sales and service to improve current designs and incorporates future needs into the existing platform.
• Works as an example and mentor to more junior mechanical engineers.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• BSME from an accredited university, or applicable engineering work experience.
• 3-5 years of engineering work experience, HVAC preferred.
• CFD, computational fluid dynamics experience preferred.
• Self-starter and must be able to work cross-functionally.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

• P.E certification a plus.
• MSME is a plus.
• SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD, Revit skills.
