Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Amityville, NY to drive the design and development of high‑performance pneumatic systems for aerospace applications. You will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to move concepts through prototyping, testing and production, leveraging Creo CAD and analysis tools.

This temp (8 months) assignment emphasizes hands-on contribution, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 8+ years of experience in CAD drawings.
• 8+ years of experience in CAD design, including Creo part- and assembly-level modeling.
• 8+ years of experience in CAD drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create 2D drawings.
• 8+ years of experience in managing small to medium projects or processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed mechanical designs using CAD tools, ensuring alignment with product requirements, customer specifications, and documentation standards.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis, including first-order engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA).
• Evaluate design feasibility against performance, cost, and schedule requirements, identifying and resolving product or process challenges.
• Present technical data and design solutions during Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and other internal and external meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide hands-on support throughout product development, prototyping, integration, testing, and production.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• 8+ years of experience in CAD design, including part‑ and assembly‑level modeling in mechanical design software, such as Creo.
• 8+ years of experience in CAD drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create 2D drawings
• 8+ years of experience in managing small to medium projects or processes that are both inside and outside of the immediate job area.
