Job description

Key Responsibilities

STV currently has an opening in our NYC office for a Mechanical Engineer for our Building's division. Key responsibilities will include the planning and preparation of HVAC designs, calculations, reports, equipment selection and specification writing for building projects. Additional responsibilities will include leading projects, working with and mentoring junior staff, meeting with clients to discuss project matters and making recommendations, when necessary, based on the clients' needs.

We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals, transportation maintenance facilities, and commercial/retail. Other potential projects include correctional facilities, law enforcement, public health, and education buildings.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience designing a wide variety of facilities for commercial, industrial, municipal, institutional and governmental projects.
• Experience with all systems associated with Mechanical as indicated under required skills.
• Experience leading mechanical projects including mentoring junior staff.
• Focused experience with federal and state agency projects, and/or local municipal projects is a plus.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, PE license required.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical designs with 3D Revit modeling, energy and load modeling/calculation software, report writing, and application of the building and Mechanical code.
• Understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, and building codes and standards.
• Competent in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
• OPENBUILDINGS experience is a plus.

Compensation Range

$149,671.54 - $171,053.19
