KDF Technologies, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design high-tech vacuum equipment for the microelectronics, medical, and semiconductor markets. You will use CAD/FEA/CFD tools to create safe, reliable systems and to validate designs through analysis, testing, and prototype assembly.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply DFMA techniques, and ensure accurate documentation while traveling up to 10% annually to support customers and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA/CFD tools.
• Experience designing mechanical components and systems.
• Familiarity with ANSI Y14.5–2018 and ANSI Y14.35–2014 standards.
• Solid understanding of vacuum equipment design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, detail, and integrate mechanical components and assemblies for innovative equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design complex systems.
• Conduct analysis, simulation, and testing to validate concepts and improve reliability.
• Design and troubleshoot vacuum systems for material handling applications.
• Create and maintain detailed drawings and system documentation.
• Interact with customers, sales, and management to define design parameters.
• Apply DFMA principles for R&D and production.
• Assemble prototypes and test components and subsystems.
• Identify and resolve obsolescence issues efficiently.
• Limited domestic travel, less than 10% per year.

• Design and troubleshoot complex vacuum systems for material handling applications
• Create, update, and maintain company documentation for all mechanical detail drawings, sub-assemblies, and system documentation
• Interface with customers, sales, and management to define system design parameters accurately
• Practice DFMA techniques for R&D and production of mechanical components and systems
• Assemble prototype mechanical systems and conduct testing of components and sub-assemblies
• Perform cost-effective engineering exercises to optimize component costs
• Identify and resolve component obsolescence issues efficiently
• Limited domestic travel, less than 10% per year

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proficient in CAD/FEA/CFD
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 – 2018 and ANSI Y14.35 - 2014
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design

Preferred

• 2 years of experience with SolidWorks
• 2 years of design experience with automated equipment
• Understanding of ISO 9001 and Engineering Change Notices
• Familiarity with designing complex vacuum systems

The compensation range for this role is $85000 to $110,000 per year.
