Position Summary
The MechanicalEngineer II is the mechanical lead for robotic machine-tending applications, dedicated multi-operationmanufacturing cells, and production fixtures supporting Banner’s manufacturing operations. This hands-onroletranslates manufacturing-process requirements into practical, reliable mechanical solutions—frominitialconceptthrough production launch.
Workingwithin a systems team,MechanicalEngineer II develops themechanical architecture for automation equipment, includingwork holding, fixtures, end-of-arm tooling, partpresentation, machine interfaces, and safeguarding. The role owns the complete mechanical design package, including 3Dmodels, drawings, GD&T, bills of material,componentselection, and build-ready documentation.
This position coordinates fabrication and assembly with internal technicians and external suppliers; providestechnical direction to designers, technicians, and vendors; andremainsactively involved through installation, debug,validation, and production handoff. The engineer also incorporates machine-safety requirements into equipment designsand contributes to risk assessments in partnership with EHS.
The ideal candidate brings strongmechanical-engineeringfundamentals, practicalautomated equipmentand fixture-design experience, and the ability to independently lead the mechanical work for assigned automation projects.
This isa technical-leadposition without direct people-managementresponsibility. Thisposition reportstothe Engineering Manager.
