Job summary

Axion Recruitment in Meadville, PA, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical design of custom machinery from concept through commissioning.

You will create 3D models, build manufacturing drawings, prepare BOMs, and coordinate with shop teams. The role requires SolidWorks proficiency, attention to tolerances, and occasional travel for installation and startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 2-5+ years of mechanical design or equipment manufacturing experience.
• Industrial machinery or capital equipment experience.
• SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD proficiency.
• Knowledge of manufacturing drawings, materials, tolerances, machining and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design of custom industrial machinery.
• Review customer and project specifications.
• Create 3D models and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
• Prepare BOMs and engineering documentation.
• Design components, frames, piping and equipment systems.
• Complete engineering calculations and material selection.
• Check and update drawings for manufacturability.
• Support fabrication, assembly and equipment integration.
• Coordinate with engineers, suppliers and shop teams.
• Assist with structural, thermal and flow analysis.
• Participate in design reviews, inspections and testing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues.
• Support installation, startup and commissioning.
• Prepare manuals, test records and drawing revisions.
• Take ownership of subsystems and smaller projects.

We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join an established original equipment manufacturer in Meadville, PA.

This is an excellent opportunity to take technical ownership of complex, custom-engineered industrial machinery projects, covering the full project lifecycle from initial concept and mechanical design through manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning.

Applicants should have experience within industrial machinery, capital equipment or engineered-to-order equipment manufacturing. Strong recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience may also be considered.

What You'll Do
