Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to create and review models and BOMs for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad Switchgear, Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Panelboards.

The role involves converting electrical drawings into mechanical packages and releasing BOMs for purchasing. Qualifications include a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 1–3 years of sheet metal design experience with familiarity in ANSI/ASME/NEC/UL standards.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 1–3 years experience in sheet metal design, with a preference for medium voltage switchgear or UL891 switchboard.
  • Knowledge of typical mechanical design principles.
  • Experience creating 3D renderings and side views from single line and elevation drawings.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC and UL standards.
  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-project multitask environment with changing priorities.
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • US work authorization without sponsorship required.

Responsibilities

  • Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering.
  • Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations, section views and bill of material.
  • Provide electrical engineering with mechanical components of drawing package.
  • Release bill of material for purchasing and fabrication.
  • Receive new product designs, product modifications and implement the new designs/changes into production engineering systems.
  • Provide support to manufacturing regarding project questions and issues.
  • Interact with electrical engineering, and project management as required.
  • Communicate job status, including possible issues, with supervisor.

Job Summary:

Job Duties:
  • Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering
  • Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations, section views and bill of material
  • Provide electrical engineering with mechanical components of drawing package
  • Release bill of material for purchasing and fabrication

Requirements
  • 1-3 years experience in sheet metal design, with a preference for medium voltage switchgear design or UL891 switchboard
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • Knowledge of the typical mechanical design principles

  • Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC and UL standards
