Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to create/review models and BOMs for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad Switchgear, Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Panelboards.

The role involves reviewing electrical diagrams, converting drawings into mechanical packages, releasing BOMs, and supporting manufacturing with project questions and changes. Requires 1–3 years in sheet metal design and a BS in Mechanical Engineering, with proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering degree required.
  • 1–3 years experience in sheet metal design, with a preference for medium voltage switchgear design or UL891 switchboard.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles (ANSI, ASME, NEC, UL).
  • Experience creating 3D renderings and side views from single-line/elevation drawings.
  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering.
  • Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations, section views, and BOM.
  • Provide mechanical components of drawing package to electrical engineering.
  • Release BOM for purchasing and fabrication.
  • Receive and implement new product designs and changes into production systems.

Job Summary:

Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will create/review models and BOM’s for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad Switchgear, Metal-Eclosed Switchgear and Panelboards.

Job Duties:
  • Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering
  • Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations, section views and bill of material
  • Provide electrical engineering with mechanical components of drawing package
  • Release bill of material for purchasing and fabrication
  • Receive new product designs, product modifications and implement the new designs/changes into production engineering systems
  • Provide support to manufacturing regarding project questions and issues
  • Interact with electrical engineering, and project management as required
  • Communicate job status, including possible issues, with supervisor
  • 1-3 years experience in sheet metal design, with a preference for medium voltage switchgear design or UL891 switchboard
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • Knowledge of the typical mechanical design principles
  • Experience in creating 3D renderings and side views based on single line and elevation drawings
  • Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC and UL standards
  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Ability to work in a multi project multitask environment with changing priorities required
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
  • US work authorization without sponsorship required

  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
