Job description

Who We Are

Quest Global delivers world‑class end‑to‑end engineering solutions by leveraging our deep industry knowledge and digital expertise. By bringing together technologies and industries, alongside diverse perspectives, we solve problems better and faster. Our multi‑dimensional approach addresses critical, large‑scale challenges across aerospace & defense, automotive, energy, hi‑tech, healthcare, medical devices, rail and semiconductor industries.

Job Overview

We are looking for humble geniuses who believe engineering can make the impossible possible, innovators who are inspired by technology, and partners who design, develop, and test solutions for Fortune 500 customers. As a diverse engineering team, we strive to build a brighter future for all. If you want to contribute to meaningful work, join an organization that values collective success and learning from every outcome, we’re eager to hear from you.

What You Will Do

We need an experienced, detail‑oriented Mechanical Engineer with expertise in steam valve hydraulic actuators, hydraulic power units (HPUs), hydraulic trip manifold assemblies (TMAs), control system elements, and instrumentation design. The ideal candidate will design and optimize hydraulic and control systems for complex industrial applications, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical control elements with digital electronic controls. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, hydraulic systems, and instrumentation.

  • Design, develop, and optimize steam valve actuators for high‑pressure, high‑temperature systems, ensuring they meet operational, safety, and performance specifications.
  • Design hydraulic power units (HPUs) to supply hydraulic pressure for control systems, selecting and integrating pumps, valves, reservoirs, and other components to maximize performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
  • Design and integrate manifolds, valves, and related components into hydraulic systems to ensure proper flow distribution, system safety, and minimal leaks or failures.
  • Collaborate with control system engineers to integrate hydraulic power systems, actuators, and instrumentation with control systems for optimal performance.
  • Perform mechanical design calculations, including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, to meet safety, reliability, and performance criteria.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to align mechanical designs with system requirements, providing technical support throughout design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation—technical drawings, schematics, design specifications—and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience with steam valve hydraulic actuators, HPUs, manifolds, and control systems.
Technical Skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of steam valve actuators, hydraulic systems, and instrumentation design.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, pressure systems, and mechanical actuation.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic control systems and their integration with control systems.
  • Proficiency in solid modeling and 2‑D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for mechanical design and layout.
  • Experience with instrumentation design for monitoring and controlling systems (e.g., pressure sensors, flow meters, temperature transmitters).
  • Knowledge of safety standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, IEC).
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hydraulic systems in industries such as oil and gas, power generation, or heavy manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with advanced control systems and their integration into hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of system testing and performance validation techniques for hydraulic and control systems.
Pay Range

$80,000 – $110,000 per year.
Compensation decisions are based on experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors, following our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan.
