Job summary

Lee Company, a Tennessee-based construction services firm, is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our Design-Build team. You will design and support HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems for commercial projects, prepare drawings, and lead project teams to successful completion.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and a Professional Engineer license or eligibility, along with strong communication, planning and problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of work experience with complex building HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in the commercial and/or industrial sector.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in Design/Build project delivery.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills essential for team-based projects.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for simultaneous project schedules.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full Design of Mechanical, HVAC and Plumbing systems, Engineer of record.
  • Responsible for preparing construction drawings and specifications.
  • Act as the technical authority consistently moving projects toward successful completion often while leading internal teams.
  • Thoroughly understand and design to all relevant codes and standards.
  • Assist internal sales and vertical market teams in preparing proposals for design and construction of projects by various support functions such as: drawing review, site review, perform load calculations, initial equipment selections, design clarifications, codes research, systems analysis, energy audits and problem solving.
  • Perform evaluations of facility mechanical systems and develop narratives for Owner solutions.

Summary Of Job

This full-time position will provide engineering design and support as part of our Design-Build construction team. This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and engineering design experience in facility solutions.

Skills And Abilities

  • Registered Professional Engineer, with state P.E. license, or eligible to obtain a state P.E. license required
