Job summary

L2x Talent Solutions is seeking a hands-on mechanical design engineer to design and improve mechanical systems, components and products, from concept through manufacturing and implementation.

You will create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models, perform tolerance analyses, select materials, troubleshoot issues, maintain specifications and BOMs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems, components, and products to meet performance and reliability requirements.
• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using engineering design software.
• Support product development activities from concept through manufacturing and implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and project management.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection for mechanical designs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation including specifications, BOMs, and test procedures.
• Support prototype builds, product testing, and validation activities.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and design optimization.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
• Work with suppliers and vendors on component selection, manufacturability, and technical support.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and engineering change management processes.
