Pacific Packaging Machinery is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Corona, California. The Mechanical Engineer develops and prepares mechanical designs for filling and capping machinery, applying independent judgment and highly technical skills.

Responsibilities include 3D modeling in SolidWorks, BOM creation in Syteline ERP, and coordinating with Manufacturing, Sales, and Service to ensure safe, functional, economical designs and on-time delivery.

Competenze

• 2-5 years of experience in design and/or application engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Strong fundamentals in machine design and fluid dynamics.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering, electrical systems, and programming.
• Experience designing machined and fabricated parts such as shafts, drive components, frames, and sheet metal components.
• Experience in a made-to-order environment focusing on semi-custom machinery.
• Packaging or food processing industry experience is a plus.
• Bottle filling or capping equipment experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ERP systems.

Pacific Packaging Machinery is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Corona, California. The Mechanical Engineer develops and prepares mechanical designs for filling and capping machinery where broad use of independent judgement and highly technical skills are required.

Are you passionate about this work?

• Mechanical engineering projects including obtaining customer specifications and designing the mechanical components of the machinery. This involves working closely with the Sales Department, application of mechanical engineering knowledge of machinery principles and materials, manufacturing methods and processes to ensure designs are safe, functional, practical, economical and satisfying customer operating requirements.
• Conducting calculations derived from typical mechanical engineering fundamentals including machinery design theory, power transmission, fluid dynamics, basic controls theory, etc. Presenting calculations and design in design review format to internal team as well as customers.
• Designing of machined and fabricated parts which include shafts, bearings & housings, valves, drive components, mounting plates & precision spacers, structural frame weldments, sheet metal components, channels, and covers.
• Generating 3D models and drawings in CAD software (SolidWorks) and completing Bill of Materials in ERP system (Syteline) including details required to complete manufacturing effort for proper handoff to planning/purchasing.
• Analyzing and prioritizing projects based on the scope of established internal operations schedule.
• Interfacing with Manufacturing to ensure machinery designs are properly fabricated, machined, and assembled which may include revising of mechanical design specifications/drawings.
• Interfacing with Assembly to support mechanical completion and testing of equipment. Interfacing with all other departments e.g. sales/marketing, aftermarket, field services, purchasing, etc., to coordinate work/projects to ensure customer on-time delivery and quality. Preparing and directing reports to other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
• Acting as a technical resource for customers and Service Department’s Service Technicians to address and resolve inquiries and problems. Especially, during machine installation and start-up in customer plant(s).
• Traveling to customer sites (10%).

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (mechanical preferred).
• Strong fundamental understanding of core mechanical engineering subjects (machine design, fluid dynamics).
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering, electrical systems, and programming.
• Design knowledge of machined and fabricated parts e.g. shafts, drive components, mounting plates, structural frame weldments, sheet metal components, channels, and covers.
• Experience in a “made to order” type environment focusing on semi-custom machinery.
• Packaging or food processing industry experience a plus.
• Bottle filling or capping equipment experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including good presentation skills.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word/Excel/PowerPoint, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ERP Systems)
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
